§ 3. [Vacation of streets.]

  • When the commission shall deem it advisable to consider the vacation of any public street or alley, or any part thereof, it shall by resolution appoint a time not less than four weeks thereafter, when it shall conduct a public hearing on the matter. Notice of such hearing, with a copy of said resolution, shall be published two successive weeks before the appointed hearing date in a newspaper circulating in the city. At the public hearing the commission shall hear objections to the proposed vacation, and the commission may thereafter vacate such street or alley or part thereof by resolution adopted by at least five-sevenths of the commission elect.
