§ 4. [Election of board; term of office.]

  • The members of the retirement board provided for in section 3, paragraphs (e), (f), and (g), shall be elected under such rules and regulations as the board shall adopt to govern such elections. The term of office of the board members provided for in section 3, paragraphs (d), (e), (f), and (g) shall expire at the end of each three year period following July 1, 1993 for the appointed citizen board member provided for in section 3(d); July 1, 1992 for the police board member provided for in section 3(e); July 1, 1991, for the fire board member provided for in section 3(f); and July 1, 1993 for the general board member provided for in section 3(g). Except as provided herein, board members serving at the time of the adoption of a Charter amendment shall complete his or her current term. The ex officio retired member/beneficiary member shall be elected for a three-year term which shall commence on July 1, 1992. Each board member shall, within ten days after his appointment or election, as the case may be, take an oath of office, on the form now prescribed by Charter, to be administered by the city clerk.
