§ 74-81. Theft; prosecution; jurisdiction.

  • (a)

    Any conduct prohibited in article IV, division 1 and division 2, may be prosecuted for any of the following if:

    (1)

    The offense occurred within the borders and city limits of the city.

    (2)

    Where the information used to commit the crime was used within the borders and city limits of the city.

    (3)

    The victim resides in the city.

    (b)

    Jurisdiction described under subsection (a) applies to conduct prohibited under one or more of the following laws, and conduct that is done in furtherance of, or arising from, the same transaction as conduct prohibited under one or more of the following laws:

    (1)

    The Identity Theft Protection Act of 2004 P.A. 452, MCL 445.61—445.79(c).

    (2)

    MCL 257.310 and 257.903 of the Michigan Vehicle Code.

    (3)

    Each and every crime from City Code sections 74-91—74-115.
